Volunteer Opportunities – Winter/Spring 2023
As many of you know, the PTA is currently made up of volunteers who organize various events and activities throughout the school year for our Floris community. In order for us to continue putting on these great events (like the Spirit Ball) we need parents like you to volunteer!
We have several volunteer opportunities that range in responsibility and commitment so, please take a minute to look over the information below to see if any sound like they’d be a good fit for you.
Movie Nights: General Volunteers Needed: Our first movie night of the year (since 2019!) was this past November and although we had a great turnout, we realized we need much more help running these events in the future. We have two more movie nights coming up this year (Feb 3rd and May 5th) and we’d love to have 3-4 parents volunteer to help us with everything from setting up/cleaning up to selling pizza, snacks and spirit wear before and during the movie.
International Night: International Night has been a huge hit in the past and we are excited to be bringing this great event back to Floris this year! International night is a 1-2 hour event that will be held in the Floris cafeteria one night in April. The purpose is to allow our Floris community the opportunity to be exposed to different countries and their cultures. The event will consist of various tables run by parent volunteers, each representing a different country. Each table may have things such as shareable food, various crafts, decoratons, etc. that are associated with that country.
At this time, we are looking for 1 to 2 people to help plan and organize this event. Main responsibilities include working with other parents to support them as they organize their country’s table and ensure that we have a diverse group of countries and cultures represented. If you are interested in volunteering for a particular table/country, please stay tuned for further instructions.
Thanks in advance for your consideration. If you are able to help out in any of these roles we would be INCREDIBLY grateful! Please reply to Kerin Hamel at FlorisPTA.SSO@gmail.com if you’re interested or have any questions.
Thank you,
Kerin Hamel
