Virginia Science Olympiad (VASO)

Registration is closed.

Science Olympiad or “SO” is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. These goals are achieved by participating in Science Olympiad tournaments and non-competitive events, incorporating Science Olympiad into classroom curriculum and attending teacher training institutes.

Did you know some participants in the nationally recognized Science Olympiad competition are eligible for college scholarships? Founded in 1984, the Science Olympiad is the premier team STEM competition in the nation, providing standards-based challenges to 5,500 teams at 400 tournaments in all 50 states.

    • This year’s Division “A” Competition will be held on either Saturday November 4th or Saturday November 11th. Please consider your child’s schedules and availability on either of those two dates.
    • ONE registration should be made per child.  VASO requires children to compete in teams of two, and there is a space on the linked registration form to specify if your child has a preferred “partner”.

If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer as a coach for this year’s VASO team, please contact florispta.vaso@gmail.com
